Quality Council (QC) Announcement As you may be aware Delmarva has been awarded the new Quality Assurance Contract by the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA). Delmarva will have new processes and revised scope of expectations under the new contract, with a focus more on quality assurance activities referred to as “discovery”. One of Delmarva’s new responsibilities will be to coordinate the new Quality Council (QC). The Quality Council replaces the Interagency Quality Council (IQC) and is charged with the identification of areas in the Florida Developmental Disabilities system that require improvement based on the data generated by Discovery Reviews and other discovery processes. The Council will generate strategies to address these system deficiencies. The composition of the QC will include people with disabilities, family members and other stakeholders. QC meetings will occur on a quarterly basis. Each year, two of the meetings will be held in Tallahassee and two in other Florida cities. The meetings will typically start mid-morning on Wednesday and end mid-afternoon on Thursday, requiring 1 or 2 nights of overnight travel for those members not local to the meeting location. Travel expenses will be reimbursed for members who are self advocates or family members. Membership in the QC is for two years. Members are expected to actively participate in all meetings and represent the interests of their peers throughout the state. Members may also be asked to participate in sub-committees to discuss recommendations for the full body. Please let us know if you are interested in dedicating your time to this group. If you are interested in applying for membership in the QC please contact Delmarva:
